Our History
Hispano Law Group, Ltd. was founded in 2013 in Chicago by attorneys Gilberto A. Rodríguez and Joel Vázquez-Cognet.
Both attorneys met while working at another law firm in Chicago and identified that most law firms in the Chicago area only have Spanish-speaking paralegals, while attorneys at these firms generally have to use interpreters to communicate with the client.
Attorneys Rodríguez and Vázquez-Cognet decided to create Hispano Law Group, Ltd. to provide legal services tailored to the Spanish-speaking community in the Chicago area. An office in which all the staff are completely bilingual and take care of the client in Spanish from the first call they make until the case is finalized.
Our main office is in Chicago. In addition, since 2019 we have a second office in Elgin with the purpose of serving the Spanish-speaking community in the area.
Careers
Intake Attorney
+ Conduct initial client screening and/or intake
+ Provide support to attorneys including assisting with legal research and preparation of legal documents
+ Assist in the management of the office and paralegals
Paralegal
+ At least 2+ years experience in Immgiration and/or Family Law
+Draft and review Immigration forms and other pleadings and motions
+ Resolve routine issues and consult with attorneys when complex legal questions arise.
+ Prioritize matters for handling and processing in a timely manner
Legal Assistant
+ Assist paralegal in drating legal documents
+ Answering phones and assisting clients
+ Keep attorneys on schedule with file deadlines, calendar, court dates, and mediation
+ Filing court documents when needed
